Manga Jiman Competition 2009

leeksushiThe Japanese Embassy in the UK is running the Manga Jiman competition in the UK for up and coming manga artists. The Manga Jiman competition has a number of amazing prizes for those who enter, these prizes are:

  • The amazing First Prize is two (2) return air tickets to Japan, courtesy of All Nippon Airways!**
  • The Second Prize is a fabulous TOSHIBA laptop computer.
  • Third Prize is a superb RICOH digital camera.

Runners-up will receive and a selection of manga publications, available in the UK from various UK manga publishers and Japan Centre gift vouchers amongst others prizes.
The winners’ works will also be displayed in a special MANGA JIMAN EXHIBITION at the Embassy of Japan.

The competition is open to all UK residents over the age of 14 and there are some terms and conditions that apply. So make sure you check out the Japanese Embassy website for further details. The theme this year is the sun, so your theme is free but must involve the sun in some way.

Additionally to this ITCH publishing, the creators of the brilliant Leek and Sushi anthology are again running their Leek and Sushi anthology for this year’s Manga Jiman. So when submitting your entry to the Japanese Embassy make sure you submit it to ITCH Publishing as well who will then compile your work into their anthology.
