It’s Monday! It’s too hot and we all want to be able to go to bed without thinking about waking up every couple of hours due to the heat. Well, this week doesn’t look like it’s due to get any better so to keep you entertained during the awake hours in the night, there are a number of good releases out today. There are three new releases this week and they are:
- Soul Eater Part 1
- Code Geass R2 Box 1
- .hack//Roots (Anime Legends)

Not every week is a long weekend, for those of us who work outside of the service industry we’ve just had Friday, Saturday, Sunday and today off from work or school. Perfect long weekend, if only it was always like that! However, for some bizarre reason the anime world has got things the wrong way around!
Last week there was only two new DVD releases, although large box sets, this week, there are seven new anime releases and two further DVDs worth taking note of! So, without further adue, here are the releases:
The two that are noteworthy, non-anime but Japanese related DVDs are:
Geisha Assassin, also known as Geisha vs Ninja is being released by MVM Entertainment and is a light-hearted film where Geisha’s and Ninja’s clash.
Battle Royale looks like a license rescue as it my copy was released by Palisades Tartan. Battle Royale for those who don’t know it, is where a group of children are taken to an island and have to kill each other before they can escape.
All of the above DVDs have got links next to them to the cheapest place we could find to purchase them from, if there are two places the same both links have been given but extra information in brackets where needed.
Make sure that rather than pirating these items, or just downloading them that you purchase these DVDs to help support the growing anime industry in this country!

Beez Entertainment, the subsidiary of Namco Bandai, today announced via their Twitter feed that Beez Anime Legends lineup for 2010:
- Wolf’s Rain Complete Collection
- Gundam Seed Part One
These two shows will be available from the 25th January, 2010. What makes their Anime Legends lineup different from the norm, is twofold. One, the anime series are classics, most of them are older and wouldn’t always be picked up by companies due to the need for newer anime every minute of the day and the second is the price. Currently both DVDs are going being promotionally priced at £16.99 with a RRP of £24.99.
For a boxset of a complete collection, or even a partial boxset of a half series these prices are amazingly good value. Considering that a standard 3-6 episode volume is often priced between £12.99-15.99.

Today, like many Monday’s there are a number of new DVDs are being released onto the UK anime market. There are a number of follow-on DVDs today and one big boxset that needs to be bought. The new releases are as follows:
- Samurai Deeper KYO Volume 3
- Slayers: Try Volume 3
- Solty Rei Volume 5
- Witchblade Complete Box Set
- X Volume 2
All of these MVM Entertainment DVDs are available from all good retailers immediately.

As with every week, DVDs are released in the UK. Sometimes there are many and sometimes there are few. This week there are a lot of great DVDs that are now available for general purchase, and those DVDs are:
- Ghost in the Shell 2.0 and Ghost in the Shell Innocence – Blu Ray
- Ghost in the Shell 2.0 and Ghost in the Shell Innocence – Standard Definition
- Ghost in the Shell 2.0 – Blue Ray
- Ghost in the Shell 2.0 – Standard Definition
- Bleach Series 4 Volume 1
- Naruto Unleashed Series 7 Volume 2
So that’s an awful lot of High Definition viewing available.

The lovely Andrew over at Beez Entertainment today updated their official blog with some new screenshots of one of their latest titles – Sword of the Stranger. They start off by showing the digitally 3D boxart, which looks like:
Unfortunately there are no photos of the packaging as it’s all be saved for the Expo at the weekend. But the inside will look something like:
Andrew goes on to explain that for the First Edition DVDs that there’s a ton of bonuses, such as the Making Of, an Original Short Film, a few trailers and a few other things to boot.
If you’re at the Expo this week, make sure you pick a copy up.

This week there are only a couple of DVDs, unlike most weeks when we are given a huge selection to choose from. Fortunately this week’s selection is of a very high quality. The three DVDs available this week are:

This week we have a legendary series being released as a complete box set. Although this series is now actually nearly two years old, it’s only been in the UK for a few months and the good value boxset is out already. Along with there is the second part of an easy viewing series with an interesting history. These two titles are:
